Terra Nova National Park is a great place to see migratory birds in June. It's about a 2.5-hour drive from the capital city, St. John's, and it is worth your time. You can trek deep into the Newfoundland forest or watch whales and icebergs from the Atlantic shoreline. Great fishing, camping, hiking and excellent birding. I visited Terra Nova National Park in June of 2015 for some bird survey work and snapped a few photos while I was hiking around.
The first of a Belted Kingfisher that had newly caught a fish.
And the second of a pair of Cedar Waxwings chattering away in a birch tree.
Come back this weekend for waterbirds of the Everglades!
